Tribute to Food for Thought in the Senate—June 2021

Senator Paula Simons celebrated Food for Thought's millionth meal served during the June 2, 2021 Senate sitting. Bernie and Carol Kowalchuk were inspired to start Food for Thought after reading an article Paula Simons wrote in the Edmonton Journal over two decades ago. Hopefully this video inspires others to step forward and undertake the work that needs to be done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljFvB5wNW0g

Avenue Magazine Best Restaurants 2018 Event Charity Recipient—
March 2019

Each year, Avenue Magazine ranks the top restaurants in the city then hosts an event where attendees can try signature menu items from each of the restaurants. In 2019, a portion of ticket sales from the event were generously donated to Food for Thought. We are grateful not only for the donation but also for the exposure this event provided.

Rotary Club of Edmonton NW Champions for Children Charity Recipient— November 2015

The communities within Northeast Edmonton represent many of our city's high needs neighbourhoods. For more than 40 years the Rotary Club of Edmonton Northeast has focused on creating a positive environment for these children and their families. Each year the Club organizes a fundraiser and in 2015 it selected Food for Thought as its recipient charity. The event raised over $21,000 for our cause. We are delighted by the ongoing support from Rotary!
